Visionary Fiction

A new genre of story-telling called visionary fiction has recently been christened. It can include fictionalized memoirs of personal awakening, spiritual and metaphysical adventure tales, inspirational quest stories, and religious or Christian fiction. Visionary fiction novelist Elizabeth Cunningham describes the vision that powers her work: "I think it is the desire to reunite, in a passionate, juicy, feisty, fruitful marriage, all the things that man, so to speak, has put asunder: the wild and the human, the outcast and the adored, the sacred grove and the church, the mythic and historic, spirit and flesh."
