Reiki 1 Training: Beginner Level

Reiki Level 1, Beginner’s Course

People decide to learn Reiki for a variety of reasons. Some experience it for themselves and want to learn more. Some are drawn to it on a spiritual level. Some have an interest in complementary healing.

Whatever the reason, they are looking for a good teacher.

I offer Reiki training to Master Teacher level in the area around London Borough of Bromley. I am willing to discuss long-distance teaching for those people who have prior experience with energy healing who do not live locally.

What is Reiki?

What do you mean when you say you do Reiki?

The word Reiki has been translated to mean “Universal Life Force Energy”.

Reiki itself is the moving or channelling of energy for use in healing. The Reiki Practitioner does not heal, he merely provides the means through which energy can be harnessed and used for healing purposes.

History of Reiki

From Japan to the USA to the World

Reiki was introduced to Japan by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century.

Mikao Usui was probably a Buddhist monk. While meditating for 21 days at the top of Mount Kurama near Kyoto he received a vision which opened him to the healing powers of Reiki.

Usui established a clinic in Tokyo in 1921 and began offering Reiki treatments and training students in Reiki.

One of his students was Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, a naval officer. Dr Hayashi opened a new clinic in Tokyo prior to 1936.

Mrs. Hawayo Takata

Mrs. Hawayo Takata was born in Hawaii, on Kauai, on Christmas Eve 1900, of Japanese descent. In the 1930’s she went to Japan to visit her family there, and inform them of the death of her sister. While there she became very sick and was in the hospital. The doctors were going to operate, and as she was being prepared she kept hearing a voice saying “Operation not necessary”. Eventually she jumped off the table asking “Is there another way?”. The doctor had a sister who had been cured of dysentery at Dr. Hayashi’s clinic and suggested to Mrs. Takata she talk with his sister. The sister brought Mrs. Takata to the clinic and her treatments there began.

After Mrs. Takata became well she wanted to learn this for herself. However Dr. Hayashi was not willing to teach her because she was a foreigner. Through the good graces of her doctor, Mrs. Takata was able to pursuade Dr. Hayashi to train her in Reiki. This training took a year and brought her to what we would now call Reiki Level II (she could do everything but train other practitioners).

In November 1936 Dr. Hayashi came to Hawaii for a speaking tour to promote Reiki. During this time he trained Mrs. Takata to teach Reiki, thus making her what we now would call a Reiki Master.

The Story is Told

According to Dr Hayashi and Mrs Takata, Mikao Usui was a Christian lecturer at a university in Japan. He was asked by his students to duplicate the healing miracles performed by Jesus and when he could not, sought to gain knowledge of how the miracles were performed. This search took him to America to Loyola University, where he studied for a time. (Mikao Usui was never registered as a student here or at any other university in America.) Later, he returned to Japan where he continued his studies in a Buddhist temple and then at Mount Kurama.

He went to the mountain and gathered 21 stones with which to count the days. Each day he would throw away a stone and in this way count the time. On the 20th day nothing had come as yet and he threw away the last stone saying “Well, this is it, either I get the answer tonight or I do not”. In the night on the horizon he could see a ball of light coming towards him.

The first instinct was to get out of the way, but he realized this might just be what he was waiting for, so allowed it to hit him right in the forehead. As it struck him he was taken on a journey and shown bubbles of all the colors of the rainbow in which were the symbols of Reiki, the very same symbols in the Tibetan writings he was studying but had been unable to understand. Now as he looked at them again, there was total understanding.

After returning from this experience he began back down the mountain and was, from this moment on, able to heal. This first day alone he healed a broken toe-nail, his own starvation, an ailing tooth and the Abbot’s sickness which was keeping him bedridden. These are known as the first four miracles.

He wanted to use these abilities to help others, he spent the next seven years in the beggar’s section of Tokyo healing the poor and sick people there, sending them to a priest to assist finding them employment, and elevating them out of poverty. After the seven years he noticed familiar faces, those of people whom he’d healed long ago who were back again.

Asking them, they complained that life outside beggartown was too hard and that it was much simpler to beg for a living. They had thrown away the gift of health, as if it had no value, to return to the supposed comfort of the life they knew.

This threw Usui into a quandary and he returned to the monastery. From this he realized he hadn’t taught gratitude along with the healing. That he’d focussed on the physical ailments without dealing with the spiritual matters. The people did not understand the value of the gift he gave them.

And so began the tradition of charging for Reiki healing and training, as a way of giving worth and value to the Reiki.

What is known

Mikao Usui was probably Buddhist, he certainly wasn’t Christian. Mount Kurama is a meditation site, but there is no official record of anyone ever having fasted there for 21 days. There is no record of him ever having studied at any American university.

Dr Hayashi was a student of Mikao Usui, however Usui did not designate Mr Hayashi has his successor, and did not give any student the title of “Grand Master” as Mrs Takata designated herself.

What needs to be understood is that these discrepancies in the Reiki story do not negate the healing benefits Reiki has provided. We will never fully know why Mrs Takata chose to alter the history when she brought Reiki to America. Perhaps it had to do with the prevailing attitudes at the time, or it was done as has been suggested as a way of making a Buddhist belief system more palatable to a predominantly Christian audience. Whatever the reasons, it was done.

What does Reiki do?

The Reiki practitioner channels energy, allowing the recipient to heal themselves.

The practitioner does not heal. It is very important that you understand this. You, as a practitioner do not heal. You provide the energy that another can use for healing. You direct the energy, you send the energy. The recipient uses the energy for healing to whatever their optimal level may be. Keep your ego out of it.

Reiki = the energy of the universe. It is us, it surrounds us.

Unlike many other types of energy healing, the practitioner does not use personal energy. Because the practitioner does not use personal energy he can give himself a Reiki treatment as well as others. Reiki can also be given to plants, animals, food, stones and crystals, rooms, buildings, anything at all that needs healing.

Reiki heals. There are many factors at work here. Reiki helps people to achieve optimal wellness, for them. For someone at the end of their life, optimal wellness may mean death.

Sometimes, when Reiki is used for healing the illness may seem to get worse and things may come to a head before they get better. I’ve seen this especially when one is seeking emotional or mental healing. This is a normal part of the healing process.

Traditional Hand Positions

A Reiki treatment consists of the practitioner placing his hands on the recipient’s body having only the intent for the energy to flow. There are no complicated rituals to perform, only the simple exchange of energy between two or more people.

Some people start with a request that the energy be used for good or they call upon the ‘ascended reiki Masters’ to assist them. I don’t know these guys. I don’t call them. I will make a general statement to the universe of what I am doing and intending. And if I am doing a bit of work that appears to be more difficult, I will ask my patron Gods to assist me.

Reiki energy is smart. It knows where to go and what to do. The Reiki practitioner does not need to direct the energy nor is it necessary to study arcane theories of the universe in order to use it. It is simply intent which causes the Reiki energy to flow and intent which directs it. The best thing for the practitioner to do is nothing, but to get out of the way and allow the energy to do its work.

There is a treatment protocol traditionally taught to Reiki practitioners which involves a series of hand positions. These positions are well spaced along the clients body and together they provide good coverage of the clients entire body. While the energy does go where it is most needed, it is frequently observed that it stays near where the practitioner has placed his hands.

By covering all parts of the body evenly the patient will, by default, get the best treatment possible. These hand positions are a good place for a practitioner to begin practicing Reiki. With experience he or she should feel free to experiment based on the needs of the moment. In addition to the positions shown for the front of the body, there is a matching set of positions for the back. Behind the neck, behind the heart, behind the kidneys, and on the sacrum (tailbone).

The back hand positions are good to know, but I don’t advocate using them during a full body treatment. If you were all nice and relaxed would you want someone getting you up to make you roll over? No. If you feel the person needs energy directly on a place on the back, slip your hand underneath the back gently at that area or ask them to roll up slightly before slipping your hand underneath. All other areas of the body can be reached without having the person roll over.

Any set of hand positions is only a guideline. Use these as guidelines, then follow your own intuition.

1. Forehead and eyes
2 Ears
3 Back of head
4 Lower jaw
5 Neck
6 Chest
7 Upper abdomen (holding hands in a line across the belly)
8 Lower Abdomen (holding hands in a line across the belly)
9 Knees
10 Ankles
11 Feet

In a one hour treatment, I will spend about 5 minutes at each place, and then I will finish off by balancing and smoothing the chakras.

To do this, I hold one hand about 6 inches over the 7th Chakra and one over the 1st Chakra until I can feel the movement of the chakra. I then send energy into those two chakras while moving my hands in a circle following the natural movement of those two chakras. Chakras do not necessarily move in a clockwise rotation.

Move the hands in to the 2nd and 6th Chakras and do the same. Move the hands in to the 3rd and 5th chakras. Then move both hands to the 4th chakra.

Once you have finished that, move up to the head and sweep the hands from head to toe and back up again to the head to smooth out any ruffles and sweep away any excess energy.
Some people will tell you that you have to close the chakras once you have opened them to work with the energy, but I have never found that to be true. And in any case, I think sweeping an area tends to do the job.

Reiki Principles and ethics

Just for today

  1. Do not be irate
  2. Do not be worried
  3. Be grateful
  4. Work hard
  5. Be kind to others.

I have discussed the Reiki Principles in detail at my lens, Reiki Principles

Seeking permission

Before giving Reiki ask and receive the recipient’s permission.

Payment

What Mikao Usui found was that people did not appreciate and value Reiki healing if they didn’t have to give something in return for it. In the Western culture this translates into money. However, I have found that as long as there is some sort of exchange, this is satisfied. This exchange can be an exchange of energy, an exchange of money, or an exchange of teaching or services. I have even given Reiki with the understanding that a good deed be paid forward.

When things don’t go as planned

Look at your own involvement. Reiki is given with no expectations. Did you keep your ego out of the results?

And remember, just because the Reiki didn’t go as you had planned does not mean it didn’t go as it needed to go.

If the energy isn’t sending

Even though you asked for and received permission, it could be that the energy itself knows that it is not needed and so doesn’t flow. Or, while the person has given conscious permission, at a subconscious level they do not want to receive the energy. Do not try to force it. Let the energy go where it needs to go.

Trust that the energy is doing what it is supposed to be doing. Also, even if you cannot feel the energy moving, trust that it is somehow. Many times the Reiki practitioner doesn’t feel the energy moving, especially when doing self- healing.

Music to play while doing Reiki

Some like a gently, soothing background music while giving or receiving Reiki. It helps both sender and receiver to relax and let the Reiki flow.

Reiki: An introduction

What is Reiki & How Does it Work?

Reiki has become very popular since I first learned it in 1993 years ago. But what exactly is it?

Reiki practitioners channel chi or energy from the environment around them to the person receiving a Reiki treatment. Chi is the term used by the Chinese and martial artists for the underlying force the Universe is made of.

The concepts of Chi can be found in many other cultures around the world. Chi, Ki (Japan) Qi, Prana (India), Mana (Polynesia), Ruach (Hebrew), Barraka (Islam), and Orgone (Western European).

Martha Rogers was saying in the early 1970s within the “Theory of Universal Human Beings” that humans do not “have energy”, they “are energy”.

Research in modern high energy physics is showing the validity of these statements. The universe and everything in it, including humans, is energy.

It is because of this, because all things are energy, that Reiki healing energy can be moved from one person to another. Even across vast distances.

Where the energy comes from?

The Reiki Practitioner channels energy through their body to the recipient. One advantage that Reiki has over other forms of hands-on energy healing work is that the practitioner is not using their own energy. The energy healer who uses their personal energy runs the risk of depleting their own reserves of energy.

The Reiki Practitioner, by contrast, does not use their own energy but channels energy from the environment around them. This energy is moved through the practitioner to the recipient. Because the Practitioner is not using personal energy, after giving Reiki they tend to feel rejuvenated and energized.

This is also why a Reiki Practitioner can give Reiki to themselves, something that cannot be done using other energy healing techniques.

Energy exists all around us. It’s the air we breathe, the food we eat. It can not be created or destroyed, it can only be transformed.

A Reiki treatment – What happens

When receiving a Reiki treatment, you will always remain fully clothed. You may sit or lie down depending on what type of treatment you are receiving.

The practitioner places their hands upon the person with the intent for healing to occur. Energy is channeled through the Practitioner into the person receiving the treatment. The energy flow, for me, moves through my head into my third chakra area (the solar plexus) where it is stored until I am ready to release it.

The energy generally moves through the arms, out the hands, into the person receiving a treatment. However, it can be moved from any part of the Practitioner’s body into the recipient.

I frequently give Reiki to my children through whatever part of my body happens to be touching theirs. It’s a trick I learned when trying to slip calming energy into my very energy-sensitive son who has Asperger’s Syndrome.

The flow of healing energy to where it is needed is directed and controlled by the Practitioner. While the flow of energy may be felt throughout the body it is generally most strongly felt directly where the Practitioner’s hands are placed. Relying on instinct, intuition, and possibly messages from “guides” the Practitioner places their hands on the recipient.

I do not want to say that Reiki “knows” where it is needed as that implies that this universal energy has a consciousness of its own. Frankly, I’m not prepared to take on that debate. But, I have found through both giving and receiving Reiki that it will frequently go places where the Practitioner has not consciously intended it to go.

Occasionally, areas of stagnating energy may be found. Imagine murky water in a water clogged swamp. Nothing can move in or out. Everything stagnates and starts to smell. That is what this blocked energy feels like to me.

Stagnant energies may be removed and clean energies replaced during a treatment to restore balance. I do this by reversing the flow of energy and pulling the stagnant energies out. Once the area is cleared, then clean energy is returned.

Strangely enough, these stagnated energies may not be felt in the same area where an injury or illness has been sensed. I liken this to a bicycle inner tube that has an area of weakness in one spot. If you block one area of the inner tube so that air can not move freely, you will get a bulge in the tube.

Air that has moved throughout the tube is now restricted to a smaller space. If that area of weakness now has an excess of air, it can burst, creating damage to the tube.

The job of the Reiki Practitioner then is to not only unblock the blockage, but to fix the puncture as well.

Becoming a Reiki Practitioner

One becomes a Reiki practitioner by receiving the attunements that opens the energy channels within their body.

These days a person can receive all 3 levels of attunements in a single weekend. I don’t agree with that process. I believe that changes occur in the person on a mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical level after receiving the attunements and they need a period of time between each level to adjust.

I also believe that for the person who has no previous experience working with energy, time is needed to practice and become comfortable in moving that energy through the body.

For these reasons, I will not do attunements for the second and third levels until a length of time has passed since the previous attunements.

Reiki Levels

There are three levels in Reiki.

Reiki I opens the person to using Reiki energy. This allows the person to use Reiki on themselves and upon others.

Reiki II provides the information and knowledge needed to send Reiki Healing over long distances and across time. A greater commitment to Reiki needs to be made at this level. It also increases the flow of Reiki energy above that available at Level I. A person at this level can call themselves a Reiki Practitioner.

Reiki III is the level one needs to be to teach and attune others in Reiki. At this level a strong commitment to Reiki is made on a spiritual level. The flow of energy increases greatly at this level. A person at this level can call themselves a Reiki Master.

In the UK, I have seen this subdivided further into Reiki 3a and 3b, the Reiki Master Teacher and Master Practitioner. Within this division, the Master Practitioner can practice as a Master but cannot teach while the Master teacher is able to teach as well.

Platonic Philosophy

January 28, 2019 By employed Leave a Comment

Plato

Plato was a more systematic and positive thinker than Socrates, but his writings, particularly the earlier dialogues, may be regarded as a continuation and elaboration of Socratic insights. Plato carried on Socrates’ interest in moral questions and the Socratic idealism was organized by Plato into a philosophy.

Plato’s Biography

Plato came from an ancient, noble Greek family; on his mothers side he was related to Solon, on his father’s to the early kings of Athens. He seemed slated for an easy life. However, the Greece of his youth was no paradise for aristocrats. In the unrest following the Peloponnesian War, two of Plato’s relatives led a rebellion against the oligarchical government and were killed in the attempt. Not long after, Socrates, who was Plato’s mentor, was tried and condemned to death.

Plato fled from Athens and traveled for years – perhaps as far as Egypt, where he may have studied mathematics and history under the priests. After a 12-ear return to Athens, he went on another intellectual pilgrimage, during which he was sold into slavery. Ransomed by his friends and back in Athens, he founded the Academy. It was supported by parents of students and by the aristocracy. Dionysius II was supposed to have given Plato 80 talents (the equivalent of over half a million dollars).

Students of the school studied mathematics, philosophy, music and law. Plato believed that ideas were the sole reality. His most famous works were The Laws and The Republic, in both of which he described his utopia. In spite of his high-mindedness, he also had an earthy streak and an eye for human detail.

Plato’s Philosophy

Like Socrates he was concerned to show that there were objective standards of right and wrong and that justice was not just a matter of convention. Plato also continued the speculations of the pre-Socratic philosophers on change, and endeavored to reconcile Heraclitus’ doctrine with that of Parmenides through his famous doctrine of the Forms. Thus Plato believed, with Heraclitus, that the things of the world are subject to change and impermanence, but that these things, observed by the senses, are participators in ideal Forms, which exist apart from the material world and are unchanging and, as such known only by the mind. The goal of the philosopher is to learn to know the eternal forms and to instruct others in that knowledge.

Plato regarded ethics as the highest branch of knowledge; he stressed the intellectual basis of virtue, identifying virtue with wisdom. This view led to so-called “Socratic paradox that, as Socrates asserts in the Protagoras, no man does evil voluntarily”.

Plato also explored the fundamental problems of natural science, political theory, metaphysics, theology, and theory of knowledge and developed ideas that became permanent elements in Western thought. His theory of knowledge also is implicit in his theory of ideas. Plato stated that both the material objects perceived and the men perceiving them as constantly changing; but, since knowledge must be concerned only with unchangeable and universal objects, knowledge and perception are fundamentally different.

The basis of Plato’s philosophy is his theory of Ideas, or doctrine of forms. The theory of Ideas which is expressed in many of his dialogues, particularly the Republic and the Parmenides, divides existence into two realms, an “intelligible realm” of perfect, eternal and invisible Ideas, or forms, and a “sensible realm” of concrete, familiar objects.

In the Republic Plato describes mankind as imprisoned ina cave and as mistaking shadows on the wall for reality; he regards the philosopher as the man who penetrates the world outside the cave of ignorance and achieves a vision of the true reality, the realm of Ideas. Plato’s concept of the Absolute Idea of the Good, which is the highest form and includes all others, has been a main source of pantheistic and mystical religious doctrines in Western culture.

Plato’s Life and Influences

Born in Athens to a distinguished family with political connections, he was tempted to enter government service but was disillusioned by the extreme nature of contemporary politics. The execution of the philosopher Socrates in 399 BC shocked him profoundly and in company with friends he fled to Megara where Euclid taught. Plato traveled in Greece and possibly Egypt, Italy and Sicily during the next few years, befriending Dion, brother of Dionysius, tyrant of Syracuse. Returning to Athens he founded the Academy in 387, aiming to train men as philosopher rulers.

Attempting to put his ideas into practice, Plato returned to Syracuse in 367 and again in 361 as tutor to Dionysius II. The young ruler resented Plato’s efforts and broke with his uncle, Dion, who was eventually assassinated. Plato returned to Athens and the Academy where he taught until his death.

Probably the greatest formative influence on the young Plato was Socrates. Although not regarding himself as a disciple of Socrates, Plato counted the older man his and was deeply distressed by his death at the hands of Athenian democrats. He used many of Socrates’ ideas in his Dialogues and also used him as a mouthpiece for his own thoughts.

The Law of Attraction: How to Handle Negative Thoughts or Feelings

November 26, 2018 By employed Leave a Comment

Do Negative Feelings Cause You To Attract More Negative In Your Life?

The law of attraction says that “like attracts like” and that you attract what you think about.

So does that mean that you attract bad things into your life if you have bad thoughts or bad feelings?

It could…

In this article, we’ll talk about how bad or negative feelings affect what you attract in your life, and how to change those negative feelings so that you only attract good things in your life!

What is the Law of Attraction?

The law of attraction is a universal law, also called spiritual laws or laws of nature.

Universal laws are unbreakable, unchangeable principles of life that have been around since Creation. They operate in all phases of our life and existence, for all human beings and all things, everywhere, all the time.

The law of attraction is just one universal law. Others include the law of cause and affect, the law of vibration, the law of abundance, the law of reciprocity, and more…

The most basic definition of the law of attraction is “like attracts like”. Advocates of this law propose that thoughts have an energy which attract like energy.

In order to control this energy, you must:

  1. Know what you want.
  2. Ask the universe for it.
  3. Feel and behave as if the object of your desire is on its way.
  4. Be open to receiving it.

Sounds easy right? Not necessarily.

Unfortunately, most people spend most of their time thinking about what they don’t want, instead of what they do want.

Based on the law of attraction, if you think about things you don’t want, or if you think about the lack in your life, you will attract more lack and more of those things you don’t want.

Do You Attract Bad Things Into Your Life?

Most people like the idea of creating their own life, but have a hard time accepting that they could have created the bad things in their life.

For example, if you lose your job, have a car accident, or are a victim of a crime, you may think “there’s no way I attracted that; I didn’t want to lose my job”.

Well, you may not have wanted to lose your job, but according to the law of attraction, you could have had thoughts or feelings that created those circumstance in your life.

Think of it this way: let’s say you wake up on the wrong side of the bed and you’re grumpy from the minute you wake up. And things start going downhill right away. You squirt toothpaste all over the bathroom, you trip over the dog, you spill your coffee on your new suit, and you get stuck in traffic, and so on and so on…

According to the law of attraction, if you wake up grumpy, it’s likely that you will find things in your day to make you grumpier and grumpier. Unless you change your thinking.

The good news is that you don’t have to stay in a grumpy place just because you wake up grumpy. The next time you notice that you are grumpy or that you’re having negative feelings about something, find a way to change those thoughts to positive thoughts.

Over 97% Of Your Thoughts Are Negative

Did you know that over 97% of your thoughts are negative? That’s huge!

According to Pam Ragland of Have Anything, in the average adult 97.4% of your thoughts are self-limiting (or negative). Most of these negative thoughts are in your subconscious, so you may not even be aware of them.

Since 95% of what we do is by habit, and since so many of our thoughts are negative, can you see why it’s so hard for most people to make changes?

Though Shifting to Remove Negative Thoughts

Most people use affirmations, meditation, visualizations or other exercises to remove negative thoughts so they can create new things in their life (that could be money, success, love, etc.).

Unfortunately, with 95% of our thoughts being negative, and most of these being in our subconscious, it can take many years to create change in our lives.

You need to be able to find the blocks that are holding you back so that you can create the success you want in your life.

Traditional coaches help clients change their habits through the use of repetitive visualizations and affirmations. While these are helpful, they can be very time consuming and can take many years to see any results.

Thought shifting is a new technique that can help you transform your life by removing your negative thoughts instantly.

What do Thought Shifters (TM) do? Thought shifters…

  • Identify the root cause of your challenge, more effectively and quickly than anywhere on the planet (the closer to the root cause the more clearing takes place)
  • Energetically Thought Shift(TM) the issue behind the scenes, eliminating the negative thoughts that are standing in your way. Thought shifters can clear issues faster and more effectively than anywhere else on the planet.
  • Challenge any thinking that is no longer useful
  • Install new intentions energetically (so they are immediately and effortlessly available to you)
  • Provide you with the tools, support, and structure to accomplish more

Pam Ragland provides several levels of thought shifting. Level 2 is the first level where you can actually be shifted, and can eliminate 25-50% of your negative thoughts. Level 4 is called Quantum Thought Shifting (TM) and at this level 100% of your negative thoughts are eliminated leaving you free to create the life you truly want.

By eliminating your negative thoughts, you can achieve things you never thought possible! To learn more about thought shifting, please visit Pam Ragland’s Have Anything site, or sign up for one of her free teleclasses at AskPamRagland.com.

Focus on the Solution, Not the Problem

I learned this powerful strategy from one of the Abraham-Hicks law of attraction books…

When you find yourself really worrying about a problem or situation, you need to find a way to change your thinking. Otherwise you might attract more of what you’re worried about into your life.

It can be very difficult to shift your focus when it’s something that’s very important to you, or if the problem seems overwhelming.

Weight loss is a great example of this. When you feel fat, you can’t get thin. Why? Well, when you feel fat, you tend to get down or depressed, then you may eat more or you may sleep more to combat the down feelings you’re having. If you focus on feeling fat (the problem), chances are you’ll attract more of that to you and gain even more weight.

On the other hand, if you focus on the solution (getting more exercise, eating healthier), you’ll be motivated to take action and you’ll attract the support and tools you need to achieve your goal.

So by shifting your focus from the problem to the solution, you will attract what you want into your life instead of what you don’t want.

Flip the switch

One of my favorite ways to change negative feelings to positive feelings is to “flip the switch”.

I learned this strategy from Dr. Robert Anthony’s Know How to Be Rich program.

“Flip the switch” is a very simple, but very effective way to go from attracting what you don’t want to attracting what you do want in your life.

The premise behind flip the switch is that when you find yourself in a bad mood or having a bad day, you need to find some way to turn off your negative feelings and turn your focus towards positive feelings.

You can do this in a number of ways, such as listening to your favorite music, going for a walk, watching a funny show, or reading an inspirational book.

According to Dr. Anthony, you only need 17 seconds to shift your focus from negative thoughts to positive thoughts. If you can hold a positive thought for 17 seconds, it will cancel out the negative thoughts you were feeling.

So to practice “flip the switch” find something in your life that you can focus on for at least 17 seconds to change your bad thoughts to good thoughts.

For me, good music can change my feelings from negative to positive in an instant. So my “flip the switch” strategy is to listen to some of my favorite songs when I’m feeling bad or having a bad day. I actually created a “flip the switch” playlist in my iTunes that I can turn on when I need to change my focus from bad to good.

What activity or thing can you do to flip your switch when you’re having a bad day?

Using Affirmations to Change Your Focus

The law of attraction says that you attract what you think about. Unfortunately, when things aren’t going so well in your life, it’s hard to have positive thoughts.

Affirmations are a great way to change your focus from the negative to the positive.

Here are a few of my favorite affirmations. I hope you find them helpful. If you have your own favorite positive affirmations, please post them to the guestbook!

Nothing Is More Important Than Feeling Good

happiness LOAWhen you feel bad about something, chances are you are in the process of attracting something you don’t want or you are resisting something that you do want.

Whether you understand the affect of your emotions or not, your negative feelings are attracting more negative in your life, so it’s important that you understand the role that your feelings play in the law of attraction, and how to change those feelings.

When you are feeling bad about something, it’s easy to think more bad thoughts and to attract more bad into your life (or at the very least, to repel the good things you want in your life).

On the flip side, if you are feeling good about something it’s natural to have another good thought and another good thought and so on. When you’re having good feelings and thoughts you’ll notice that the circumstances in your life start and continue to improve.

Therefore, it’s important to recognize your feelings and to actively look for good thoughts when you are feeling bad.

In the law of attraction, nothing is more important than feeling good…

Positive Thinking Is A Powerful Tool

Have you ever met someone who was so positive about life, you wish you felt that way as well? You can. Positive thinking is a powerful tool. Our minds control all of our thought processes and can be the catalyst for living a happy and positive existence or live life with a doom and gloom attitude.

Here are several ways to not only improve your mindset, but your life as well.

* If you are faced with a negative thought, change it to a positive one. Remember the movie, “Pollyanna?” Her father taught her the “glad game.” She encouraged the town to find things to be glad about. Eventually, they did and were happier than ever before.

* Surround your life with positive people. Go to events which bring you joy or have special meaning. Invoke positive memories whenever you can.

* There is a saying, “It’s the simple things in life that make me happy.” Find those simple pleasures, no matter how small or insignificant they may be. They are yours to enjoy.

* Laughter is the best medicine, especially for a heavy heart. Be around people who make you laugh; it’s quite contagious.

* Love yourself; nurture the inner you; love others, and most of all be kind. Greet the doorman in the morning, or give a hug to someone who needs it most.

* Help someone less fortunate than yourself. Volunteer your time at a nursing home or hospital. When you give, you receive ten-fold.

Remember, what you do affects others. If you are negative, people will shy away from you. However if you are positive, you will be surrounded by people who wish to be in your company all the time. Congratulate yourself on jobs well done! Positive thinking breeds positive results.

Begin your day in a positive manner. Nothing is worse then getting up in a grumpy mood. It not only sets the tone for the days’ events, but impacts your family as well. Place flowers around your home; open the curtains and let the sun shine in. Also, add more light to your home if needed. Light has a direct effect on one’s mood.

Changing the way in which you view life can make all the difference. Try not to think about the negative aspects, but focus on the positive blessings in your life. Turn off the bad news, and channel your thoughts in the direction of goodness. It may be cliché, but take time out to smell the roses. Give thanks for all you have; and be generous to those who have nothing.

Higher Awareness – Spiritual Growth Programs

Learning about the law of attraction is great, but it won’t work for you unless you actually practice what you learn.

I’ve probably read hundreds of articles, books and ebooks on the law of attraction, but they were all missing what I really needed to implement the law of attraction – action steps.

A couple of years ago I stumbled across a website called Higher Awareness, which is filled with tools to help you not only learn about the law of attraction, but to help you implement what you learn.

Higher Awareness isn’t just about the law of attraction though. They have over 40 workbooks, email programs, and checklists to help you create and implement a personal development plan just for you.

Some of the topics covered on the Higher Awareness site include:

* Manage your time
* Manifest more money, prosperity and abundance
* Build healthier relationships
* Find your life purpose
* Develop your spirituality
* Or create your own self development plan after completing a needs analysis to determine what you need to focus on right now.

Some of the tools they use to help you create and implement your life plan include:

1. Workbooks
2. Email programs
3. Smart questions (this one’s my favorite!)
4. Journal writing
5. Meditation techniques
6. Quotes and tips
7. Resource lists
8. Calendars, and more

This is one of the most helpful, powerful websites I’ve ever come across. I can’t tell you how important it is to actually use the information you learn about positive thinking and the law of attraction, and this site provides you with all the tools you need to do it!

Use a Vision Board to Create Positive Thoughts

A vision board is a great tool for activating the law of attraction by keeping your goals and dreams in front of you at all times.

It’s also a great way to keep your thoughts positive, or to change negative thoughts to positive thoughts.

Basically, a vision board is a visual representation of your goals. It is a collage of the things you want in your life.

Vision boards are created by using poster board or foam board and adding picture that you have cut out from magazines or that you have printed from the internet.

You can also draw or write on your vision board. The point is to create a visual image of what you want in your life.

The goal of the vision board is to charge your emotions by selecting pictures and words that have a lot of meaning to you. By bringing emotion to your goals, you’ll start manifesting your dreams and goals into your life.

Another option to the vision board is to use mind movies, which combine pictures, affirmations and music to charge your emotions even more.

Meditate Your Way to the Bank!

November 21, 2017 By employed Leave a Comment

money monksWhen you think of meditation, most likely the first thought you have is some monk sitting in a lonley cave on top of a mountain contiplating the big questions on life and death and why we are even here.

I doubt you think of CEOs, Financial Analyst and the sort actually meditating.

But here’s the thing, they do!

And all of them agree, meditation helped them not only create their dreams and wealth, but continues to help them manage it and grow it even further.

Don’t believe me? Check out this very short list of big wigs that admit to meditating everyday…

Hedge fund manager Ray Dalio
Salesforce.com’s Marc Benioff
Panda Express Founder Andrew Cherng
Former Monsanto CEO Bob Shapiro
Def Jam Founder Russell Simmons
Sammy Lakhany Business Advisor
Oprah Winfrey
Legal Sea Foods CEO Roger Berkowitz
Green Mountain Coffee Roaster Founder Robert Stiller
Ramani Ayer, former Chairman and CEO of The Hartford Financial Services Group
Steve Rubin, former CEO and chairman of United Fuels International

See, meditation is one of those tools that help you center your mind, quiet it down so that you can concentrate, “hear” your subconcious and opens the dorr to intuition.

In the day and age of constant bombardment of information and noise, it’s easy to get lost. Loose focus. Ignore your inner self and all of the knowledge it can share with you.

Meditation can help calm you enough to make logical decisions based on all of the information that has been gathered about perhaps a big business deal, or simply a small start up. Then rationally decide whether it makes good business sense on a completely logical point of view and not based on just emotions.

And getting started with mediation is easy. And it can be done almost anywhere.

Just get started with 5 minutes a day can really help quiet your mind and allow you to be in the now.

You can begin with a very simple beginner exercise like counting your breathe up to 4, then start over.

Just focus on your breathing. And count the breathes.

One, two, three and four, then start from one again.

Work your way up to 5 minutes, then 10.

Just this simple exercise can help you find the wealth you are looking for.

Just look at the people I mentioned in the beginning of this article.

Asian EfficiencyIf you have been finding yourself down on your own work productivity for whatever reason, Asian Efficiency (http://www.asianefficiency.com) might be a tool that you will find useful in boosting your daily work performance.

Don’t let the name fool you, this is a course for people of all nationalities, and it is not meant to single out a certain group for marketing.

What is Asian Efficiency?

The name Asian Efficiency apparently started out as an inside joke between a group of Americans who noticed that their Asian friends were more efficient and capable of doing larger quantities of work in shorter periods of time. Morning Ritual Starter Kit

https://store.asianefficiency.com/morning-ritual-starter-kit

Another lesser known premium product from Asian Efficiency is the Morning Ritual Starter Kit, which is a 45-minute video course which describes 6 steps to increase your energy levels in the morning and provide more productive time towards your workday. This program promises you an extra 34 minutes to your day, which comes with a money-back guarantee.

The main premise of this starter kit is that you need to develop a morning ritual which cuts back on bad habits and starts your day faster to get more work done. If you can develop a daily ritual that is consistent, as they argue, you will be able to become more productive on a daily basis. This starter kit is for people who have tried out the free resources and are looking for a great place to start. It isn’t expensive at all and is a great way to support the company while receiving some great ideas.

Pros

  • Free resources allow you to try out the Asian Efficiency program before deciding to pay for better content.
  • Premium resources are very thorough, concise, easy-to-understand, and can help anybody who has productivity problems, using tested strategies
  • Most premium programs are very reasonably priced

Cons

  • The Productivity Blueprint Advanced Training Course occasionally closes enrollment, so you have to sign up fast
  • You either align with their ideas or you don’t, there isn’t much room in between

Remember

Asian Efficiency isn’t your average productivity resource. Since it contains content that is both free and paid, you can start by first reading the free posts and listening to the free podcasts before deciding to invest in one of the paid courses or content. However, it is important to keep in mind that no productivity resource, paid or free, can be an easy fix to helping you become more productive.

In the end, you are the person in charge of your motivation and productivity. The resources provided by Asian Efficiency are great at helping you notice what you may be doing wrong while providing personal assistance.

However, if you are experienced in this field you might find them to be regurgitated ideas that you have already thought of at some point.

You shouldn’t consider this to be your one stop to activation of your personal success, but if you are in a position where you need some assistance with productivity, you might try out the free content before making a purchase.

7 Ways To Be More Productive

July 28, 2017 By employed Leave a Comment

become more productiveA typical work or school day can be hectic and stressful in terms of making different decisions and staying focused on the task in hand. Do you ever find yourself daydreaming about the vacation in Hawaii or about winning the lottery?

Well I think we all do, which is why this article is written to help us become more productive, and learning these tips will make our daily lives easier in terms of productivity and concentration, so here are 7 ways to be more productive.

  • Having Ear buds on can be a great way to stay focused when your surroundings are loud and distracting. Listening to music can isolate you from the outside world, and relax your mind to help you stay focused on the task in hand. Earbuds with a microphone can be very beneficial as well because you can answer calls while still doing work.
  • The road of 1000 miles always starts with a single step. Starting a task makes it very easy to finish it, but the hard part is actually taking that first step. Use the 2 minute rule where you say you’re only spending 2 minutes on the task, but once you have started on it, most likely you are going to complete it. Ever since I started using the 2 minute rule, my life has changed, and I am finding myself getting tasks done with very little effort.
  • Multitasking is not a very possible concept, although some people claim that they are very good at it. Our brain cannot be focused on two things at once. When we multitask, the brain is switching from one task to another very quickly, which is most likely hurting the productivity of the individual than actually benefiting it.
  • Doing small tasks such as checking social media (Facebook, Instagram..) can trick our brains into thinking that we have accomplished something beneficial. In reality, this is disturbing our thought process, making us less productive, and we start to wander more and lose ideas.
  • Shorter and more focused bursts of work will not dilute your energy, hence you will be more productive and the quality of your work will be your best. Putting ourselves into situations where we are spending endless amount of time on one task will not keep us focused and it will deplete our will power.
  • Having to do list is a great way to stay productive. Knowing your goals for the day will keep you on your toes, and more focused because you are aware of the tasks you need to get done with and you are making sure you’re not wasting time.
  • Sleeping is critical if you want to have a productive day, because it allows you to recharge and enable ideas to materialize in your head, it also help reactivate and reorganize recently learned material which would help improve memory and boost performance.

Lines Used In Palm Reading

July 7, 2017 By employed Leave a Comment

Almost all hands have a certain three lines on them, and most palmists give them the most weight:

Lines Used In Palm ReadingThe first major line that is examined by a palm reader is the heart line. It represents attraction and love. It is located near the top of one’s palm, and under the fingers. This line, in some traditions, is read starting at the edge of the palm underneath the little finger and then flows across the palm in the direction of the thumb. In other traditions, it is considered to start under the fingers and then flow towards the palm’s outside edge.

This line is interpreted by palmists to represent matters pertaining to the heart. Or our emotional living, more literally. Therefore it is thought to provide insight into how our mind frames’ emotional sides act upon and act out during the course of our life time. Also, it is frequently said, that the extent to which we have emotional reservoirs inside of us. For instance, a gridded or chained heart line (or an emotional line) is frequently see in individuals who are nervous, high strung and draw upon insight and emotional strength to achieve their ambitions. In other words, to draw strength they frequently wear their emotions right on their sleeves.

Such gridding or chaining on the heart line (or an emotional line) is frequently found in creative artists like writers and musicians, in addition to highly driven scientists.

Given that it deals with emotions, it is also claimed that this line indicates intimate relationships and romantic perspectives, again, a gridded or chained heart line is said to indicate a flirtatious view on love, and where one is prone to easily fall in love.

The heart line, on a physical level, is associated indirectly with heart health,
more through the the effects emotions may have on one’s body like with blood pressure. Quite often a chained heart has associations with high blood pressure, in addition to an attitude in life of an ‘adrenaline junkie.’

The head line is the next line that palmists identify. The line begins at the edge of one’s palm underneath the index finger and then flows over the palm toward the outer edge. The head line is frequently joined at inception with the life line. Usually palmists interpret the line to represent the individual’s mind and how it works, which includes thirst for knowledge, intellectualism, communication style and learning style. It is also thought that it is an indication of a preference for analytical or creative approaches to information (i.e. left brain or right brain).

Perhaps the hand’s most controversial line is the life line. The line extends from the palm’s edge above the thumb and then travels towards the wrist in an arc. The line is thought to represent the individual’s general well being, physical health, vigor and vitality. It is also thought that the life line is a reflection of major life changes, that include relocations, physical injuries and cataclysmic events. Modern palmists, contrary to popular belief, usually don’t believe that the length of the life line on a person is associated with the length of an individual’s life.

The combined length of the the three major lines (life, head, heart) can be used also. If the combined length is longer than an individual’s foot that might be over bearing. However, when it is shorter that means the person might give in to other people too easily. When the length is similar is suggests that the individual is well balanced.

Variations or additional major lines include:

A simian crease, or the fusion of the head and heart lines, has a special significant in terms of being both emotion and reasoning nature need to studied from only this line. The specific line is believed to be a combination of the heart and head lines on the hands that are marked separately on the remainder of the hands.

The line, according to Cheiro, is believed to endow an individual with single-mindedness or intensity of purpose. The nature of it is determined by the exact position of the line on the hand as well as the direction of branches that shoot from it, which usually is the case.

On hands where this kind of line exists as a single mark without any branches, it indicates the person has a very intense nature. These people need special care. The regular position for this line starts under the index finger and ends where usually the heart line ends at the hand’s edge beneath the little finger, which indicates average interests for the individual and nature’s intense side is decided on the direction of whatever branches shoot from it.

The palm’s upper half right below the finger is thought to represent the intellectual or higher nature and the lower part of the palm represents nature’s materialistic side. If one of the halves is bigger than the other one is as determined by the head line’s central placed or singular transverse palmar crease in this case, it demonstrates the greater development of this particular aspect of nature. On the basis of this general principle, if that line is beneath its regular position is an indication of a nature that is intensely intellectual nature. When it is over the regular position it is an indication of intense materialistic interests and nature.

The direction that any of the branches might be founding shooting from the line significantly impact the nature of the line and results in suitable modifications coming from the defined results above depending on what nature of those mounts are on the hand.

For example, when a branch from the line shoots to the Moon’s mount lying on the hand’s lower edge on the exact opposite side of the thumb, it is an indication of an intensely emotional temperament and vacillating nature.

The fate line is a line running from the bottom part of the palm next to the wrist, and then up through the palm’s center toward the middle finger. It is thought that this line is connected to the life path of a person, including obstacles and successes, as well as career and school choices. This line is sometimes thought to be be a reflection of circumstances that are beyond a person’s control, or alternatively the choices an individual makes and their consequences.

Mounts that are in palmistry:

Venus mount, Neptune mount, Luna mount, plain of Mars, Mars negative, Mars positive, Mercury, Apollo, Saturn, Jupiter.

Other minor lines:

Sun line – this is under the ring ringer and parallel with the Fate line; it is thought to be an indication of scandal or fame.

Girdle of Venus – begins between the ring and little fingers, running in a rough arc underneath the middle and ring fingers and ends between the pointer and middle fingers. It is believed to be related to having the ability to manipulate and emotional intelligence.

Union lines – these are short horizontal lines located on the palm’s percussive edge between the bottom of one’s little finger and the Heart line. It is thought to be an indication of close relationships, romantic sometimes, but not always.

Mercury line – running from the bottom part of the palm close to the wrist, and then up through the palm in the direction of the little finger. It is thought to indicate skill in communication, business acumen or persistent health issues.

Travel lines – those are horizontal lines that can be found on the palm’s percussive edge between the heart line and wrist. It is said that each line represents a trip that the subject takes – the longer that the line is, the more important a trip is for the person.

Other marking include rings, tridents, squares, triangles, crosses and stars underneath each finger. The meaning and impact varies depending on the specific location on the palm as well as the freedom from other lines interfering.

Apollo line- indicates a fortunate life; this line travels from under the Apollo finger to the Mount of the Moon on the wrist.

Where Did Palmistry Come From?

July 7, 2017 By employed Leave a Comment

Where Did Palmistry Come FromThe ancient practice of palmistry dates back over thousands of years and traces of this can be found in the prehistoric caves in Spain as well as France. Detailed drawings of palms can be found painted all throughout these prehistoric locations almost as a symbol of the interest humans had in the palm since the stone age.

There have also been many archaeological findings of human palms made by ancient civilizations made of materials such as of wood, stone and even ivory. Another detail which is repeatedly seen throughout history is the use of the hand as an instrument of mitigation between the gods and mortals to bring about healing.

From Hindu Astrology in India which in Sanskrit is called Jyotish, Roma Gypsy fortune tellers and I Ching, Chinese Yijing the roots of palmistry are discovered from culture to culture. It is said that a book which is made up of five hundred and sixty seven stanzas and translated in English is titled ìThe Teachings Male Palmistryî was possibly written by the Hindu Sage Valmiki.

You can follow the route of the art of palmistry from India into China into Tibet, Persia, Egypt and other European countries. Palmistry was introduced to Greece from China and practiced by Anaxagoras. Modern day palmists however tend to combine psychology, predictive techniques that are more traditional, alternative methods of divination as well as holistic healing all in one.

The most widely practiced and taught form of palmistry is the Classical Palmistry whose roots and structure come from Greek mythology. The palm and each finger is associated with a particular god or goddess, the characteristics of each area stipulate the essence of the corresponding feature of the subject in question. Let’s take the ring finger for example which is associated with Apollo the Greek god, the features linked to the subjects art, fame, aesthetics, harmony and music practices.

There are many examples of the use such as the thesis on Palmistry found by Aristotle on the altar of Hermes (384-322 BC) or Hippocrates and Galen who were Greek physicians and both used their knowledge of palmistry in their clinical work (130-200 AD). In 3000 BC, the Chinese emperor would seal important documents with his thumbprint and there have been findings of the use and rules of palm reading in the Bible, Vedic scripts as well as in early Semitic writings. It has even been said that Julius Caesar used palmistry to pass judgment on his men.

The early and consecrated Hindu writings known as the Vedas used used the examination of hands in an attempt to discover and understand oneself and and exterior relationships thus began the deeper understanding of the patterns, lines as well as signs that are unique to each hand. The result being that this is directly due to our thought patterns which we consciously create and bring about our own personalized life map.

John Lyngate used the word Palmistry written ìPawmestryî in his early 1420 writing of the Assembly of Gods documents. De Philsiognomia was written in 1477 by Michael Scotts and was the first book ever written on Palmistry. The subject was the physiognomy of the human body however, an entire chapter was dedicated to all that is the human hand. A phrase from the book reads ìA pebble thrown into the water creates ripples, our thoughts similarly create the same effect on our handsî. During the seventeenth century many a book was written on the subject which includes the ideas that the early gypsies ideas on the human hand which traditionally has been passed on from generation to generation since the beginning of the 1400s.

The Catholic Church was directly responsible for forcing the practice of palmistry to become a clandestine practice being as they associated it with demon worship. But due to this the popular gypsy fortune teller emerged as the attempt to abolish that which was not understood brought about a new era for human experiences.

The well known French fortune teller that served in Napoleon’s court, Marie Anne le Norman was very successful with her predictions to Napoleon and Josephine this caused a lot of attention to be drawn to palmistry. This subject was written on by two French men; Desbarolles who was born in 1808 and DArpentigny, born 1798.

Many others achieved fame through palmistry. Saxony’s king in the 19th century had a physician, Dr. Carl Carus who was able to compare palms to their personalities. It was said that Patrick ìThe Mysteriousî Godden was able to look at a person’s palm and predict the exact day the would die. He predicted his own date of death however he died in 1875, not what he had predicted.

Another individual known for his ability to predict the date of death was Alex ìThe Mightyî Bernas he however was also able to say what the exact cause of death would be. He was known for his healing powers as well as a his reputation for being a witch doctor and an esteemed chiromancer.

One of the most well known and fascinating figures of the world of the occult was Cheiro. He was born in Ireland in the year 1866 as William John Warner and later acquired the names Count Louis Hamon due to his self acclaimed noble ancestry and Cheiro which is derived from chiromancy. He was known for his death predictions which are said to have been accurate at least for himself as well as date and event predictions which for even celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe were said to come true. A clairvoyant who used Chaldean numerology and palmistry to predict astonishingly accurate world events.

One thing that has always gone hand in hand with palmistry has been skepticism but as time has gone by more and more people have begun to believe. Studies in the 21st century of the palm have been performed on children born with certain disorders such as Down Syndrome, autism and ADD just to name a few. Connection have been made with early diagnostics of childhood disorders that are difficult to predict on the onset of childhood.

Thanks to the study of our unique and personalized finger maps that work the same way as our own signature forensic studies were able to conclude that no two fingerprints are exactly alike. In 1901 Scotland Yard was able to develop a form of identification they could use for criminal investigations and that was the now famous fingerprinting.
Also known as dactyloscopy identification by use of fingerprints can compare a sample of an impression of the palms, fingers and even toes to see if they positively match the individual in question. There will never be two exact same fingerprints no matter how soon a sample is taken between them. An expert or specialized and highly advanced technological computer can detect whether the ridges in the print impressions match each other to a T.

There has been research that proves there is a direct link between a fingerprint pattern and heart disorders as well as skin patterns; Dermatoglyphics have been directly linked to odd hand markings and genetic abnormalities.

Start Learning How To Lucid Dream

May 19, 2017 By employed Leave a Comment

lucid dreamsHaving the desire to experience lucid dreaming can be thrilling, frightening and time consuming. I highly doubt any of us is going to fall asleep and accomplish this the first try.

Experiencing lucid dreaming is something many people thrive to accomplish.

Usually when they realize that they are indeed dreaming, they get so thrilled that they wake themselves up and interrupt the dream.

If you are unaware of what lucid dreaming is, we can associate it with conscious dreaming. Knowing we are dreaming at some point while we are having a dream.

Due to some being able to control who and what appears in their dream some define it as mind or dream control.

With the guidance of more experienced lucid dreamers, we all stand a better chance of experiencing this amazing euphoria. Here are some of the best lucid dreaming techniques from Art of Bedtime:

1.MILD

Mnemonically Induced Lucid Dream is the extended version. With this technique, we have full intention and can visualize forcing ourselves into lucid dreaming while we are falling asleep.

Most times the combination of setting our alarms to wake us up while in the middle of the night is the first step. After we go to bed the process begins of focusing, using our mantra and visualizing what it is we want to dream.

While falling asleep, we need to make a conscious effort of remembering our dreams and then concentrate heavily just on that idea.

Repeating to ourselves, I WILL remember my dreams. This process tells your brain that it needs to pay close attention to the next dreaming episodes

By concentrating and paying close attention to our next dream, chances are high that when our dream begins we will be aware that we are indeed dreaming. Welcome to lucid dreaming.

2.WBTB

Walk back to bed is this longer version of its name. This version is basically just a smaller version of the MILD listed above, or what could be considered part of a MILD.

What we need to do with using the WBTB technique is schedule our alarm or any other version of waking up in the middle of the night. Many individuals drink extra amounts of liquids prior to going to sleep.

Where we benefit from the WBTB technique is having increased dream recall as well as experiencing a broader chance of becoming lucid when we go back to our beds.

This technique is successful because we go right back into a REM version of sleep. This method constitutes three basic main skills.

  1. We must be able to recall our dreams
  2. We must can discover dream signs from analyzing our journals
  3. We must can recognize our dream signs in tonight’s and other nights dreams.

This particular technique requires us to save extra time in the morning.
If we plan on staying awake for 30-45 minutes during the night and want to enjoy as many dreams and lucid dreams, we will need to sleep as long as we possibly can.

What this means is that its best if we practice the WBTB techniques on weekends. Its imperative that we save room and time to apply consistently all of the techniques without being disturbed.

The great news is, it should only take a few successful sessions before our minds understands what lucid dreaming is about. At which point we no longer will need exclusively to make use of WBTB technique to create lucid dreams.

3.EILD

Externally Induced Lucid Dreaming involves having the external stimuli, making us aware that we are dreaming. Triggering these should be only during REM sleep.

Using this method, we can make use of lights, an item that vibrates listen to music or use the device called a Nova Dreamer. Testing each one to see what works for us is the best approach.

Many EILD devices are a mask that we would put around our eyes while we sleep. Most come with a detector that will tell when we drift off into the REM phase of sleep.

As the mask acknowledges that we have reached the REM stage, it sends signals to stimulate one of ours senses. An example being flashed lights that we will see in our dreams to make us aware that we are indeed dreaming.

4.DILD

Dream Induced Lucid Dream is the most commonly used methods as well as the oldest. This phase can happen without us realizing it. Meaning we merely induce our lucid dream while dreaming.

This step is the technique where we notice one of our dream signs, do a reality check of just something randomly. In order to succeed in DILD, we need to practice over and over recognizing reality from a dream.

Being the most common and popular technique for lucid dreaming induction is the factor behind many newbies to achieve our first lucid dream by using this method.

When succeeding in a DILD, we will become lucid in the dream. This occurrence happens when our dreams are so wild, ridiculous or extreme that there is no other logical explanation for other than its a dream.

These dreams are the ones that shake us up or when we think OMG this is insane it has to be a dream then TA-DA we become lucid. Just think of all the visions of when you were with a deceased loved one carrying on a conversation with you.

Or you see yourself flying through the air. How about that vivid sex scene with your boss or your boss’ daughter. Seemed very real, eh? We then reach a euphoria than nothing else can make us feel.

My Experience

So many times I dream about times talking with my mother and I will wake my brain up just to see if she is really here only to realize I am in my dream talking to her.

It may sound creepy, but its the most rewarding feeling when I do wake up. I feel as though I can go to her and bring her in my dreams to be with her again. It is an incredible feeling.

There are the times where I will remind myself in my sleep that she is no longer alive here on this earth, so I then manipulate my thoughts so that I can spend time with her once again.

As crazy as it sounds I don’t feel as much grief as long as I can see her again, and it feels real.

Lucid dreaming is real, and it is amazing. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again because you will have no regrets by doing so.
