The Law of Attraction: How to Handle Negative Thoughts or Feelings

November 26, 2018 By employed Leave a Comment

Do Negative Feelings Cause You To Attract More Negative In Your Life?

The law of attraction says that “like attracts like” and that you attract what you think about.

So does that mean that you attract bad things into your life if you have bad thoughts or bad feelings?

It could…

In this article, we’ll talk about how bad or negative feelings affect what you attract in your life, and how to change those negative feelings so that you only attract good things in your life!

What is the Law of Attraction?

The law of attraction is a universal law, also called spiritual laws or laws of nature.

Universal laws are unbreakable, unchangeable principles of life that have been around since Creation. They operate in all phases of our life and existence, for all human beings and all things, everywhere, all the time.

The law of attraction is just one universal law. Others include the law of cause and affect, the law of vibration, the law of abundance, the law of reciprocity, and more…

The most basic definition of the law of attraction is “like attracts like”. Advocates of this law propose that thoughts have an energy which attract like energy.

In order to control this energy, you must:

  1. Know what you want.
  2. Ask the universe for it.
  3. Feel and behave as if the object of your desire is on its way.
  4. Be open to receiving it.

Sounds easy right? Not necessarily.

Unfortunately, most people spend most of their time thinking about what they don’t want, instead of what they do want.

Based on the law of attraction, if you think about things you don’t want, or if you think about the lack in your life, you will attract more lack and more of those things you don’t want.

Do You Attract Bad Things Into Your Life?

Most people like the idea of creating their own life, but have a hard time accepting that they could have created the bad things in their life.

For example, if you lose your job, have a car accident, or are a victim of a crime, you may think “there’s no way I attracted that; I didn’t want to lose my job”.

Well, you may not have wanted to lose your job, but according to the law of attraction, you could have had thoughts or feelings that created those circumstance in your life.

Think of it this way: let’s say you wake up on the wrong side of the bed and you’re grumpy from the minute you wake up. And things start going downhill right away. You squirt toothpaste all over the bathroom, you trip over the dog, you spill your coffee on your new suit, and you get stuck in traffic, and so on and so on…

According to the law of attraction, if you wake up grumpy, it’s likely that you will find things in your day to make you grumpier and grumpier. Unless you change your thinking.

The good news is that you don’t have to stay in a grumpy place just because you wake up grumpy. The next time you notice that you are grumpy or that you’re having negative feelings about something, find a way to change those thoughts to positive thoughts.

Over 97% Of Your Thoughts Are Negative

Did you know that over 97% of your thoughts are negative? That’s huge!

According to Pam Ragland of Have Anything, in the average adult 97.4% of your thoughts are self-limiting (or negative). Most of these negative thoughts are in your subconscious, so you may not even be aware of them.

Since 95% of what we do is by habit, and since so many of our thoughts are negative, can you see why it’s so hard for most people to make changes?

Though Shifting to Remove Negative Thoughts

Most people use affirmations, meditation, visualizations or other exercises to remove negative thoughts so they can create new things in their life (that could be money, success, love, etc.).

Unfortunately, with 95% of our thoughts being negative, and most of these being in our subconscious, it can take many years to create change in our lives.

You need to be able to find the blocks that are holding you back so that you can create the success you want in your life.

Traditional coaches help clients change their habits through the use of repetitive visualizations and affirmations. While these are helpful, they can be very time consuming and can take many years to see any results.

Thought shifting is a new technique that can help you transform your life by removing your negative thoughts instantly.

What do Thought Shifters (TM) do? Thought shifters…

  • Identify the root cause of your challenge, more effectively and quickly than anywhere on the planet (the closer to the root cause the more clearing takes place)
  • Energetically Thought Shift(TM) the issue behind the scenes, eliminating the negative thoughts that are standing in your way. Thought shifters can clear issues faster and more effectively than anywhere else on the planet.
  • Challenge any thinking that is no longer useful
  • Install new intentions energetically (so they are immediately and effortlessly available to you)
  • Provide you with the tools, support, and structure to accomplish more

Pam Ragland provides several levels of thought shifting. Level 2 is the first level where you can actually be shifted, and can eliminate 25-50% of your negative thoughts. Level 4 is called Quantum Thought Shifting (TM) and at this level 100% of your negative thoughts are eliminated leaving you free to create the life you truly want.

By eliminating your negative thoughts, you can achieve things you never thought possible! To learn more about thought shifting, please visit Pam Ragland’s Have Anything site, or sign up for one of her free teleclasses at AskPamRagland.com.

Focus on the Solution, Not the Problem

I learned this powerful strategy from one of the Abraham-Hicks law of attraction books…

When you find yourself really worrying about a problem or situation, you need to find a way to change your thinking. Otherwise you might attract more of what you’re worried about into your life.

It can be very difficult to shift your focus when it’s something that’s very important to you, or if the problem seems overwhelming.

Weight loss is a great example of this. When you feel fat, you can’t get thin. Why? Well, when you feel fat, you tend to get down or depressed, then you may eat more or you may sleep more to combat the down feelings you’re having. If you focus on feeling fat (the problem), chances are you’ll attract more of that to you and gain even more weight.

On the other hand, if you focus on the solution (getting more exercise, eating healthier), you’ll be motivated to take action and you’ll attract the support and tools you need to achieve your goal.

So by shifting your focus from the problem to the solution, you will attract what you want into your life instead of what you don’t want.

Flip the switch

One of my favorite ways to change negative feelings to positive feelings is to “flip the switch”.

I learned this strategy from Dr. Robert Anthony’s Know How to Be Rich program.

“Flip the switch” is a very simple, but very effective way to go from attracting what you don’t want to attracting what you do want in your life.

The premise behind flip the switch is that when you find yourself in a bad mood or having a bad day, you need to find some way to turn off your negative feelings and turn your focus towards positive feelings.

You can do this in a number of ways, such as listening to your favorite music, going for a walk, watching a funny show, or reading an inspirational book.

According to Dr. Anthony, you only need 17 seconds to shift your focus from negative thoughts to positive thoughts. If you can hold a positive thought for 17 seconds, it will cancel out the negative thoughts you were feeling.

So to practice “flip the switch” find something in your life that you can focus on for at least 17 seconds to change your bad thoughts to good thoughts.

For me, good music can change my feelings from negative to positive in an instant. So my “flip the switch” strategy is to listen to some of my favorite songs when I’m feeling bad or having a bad day. I actually created a “flip the switch” playlist in my iTunes that I can turn on when I need to change my focus from bad to good.

What activity or thing can you do to flip your switch when you’re having a bad day?

Using Affirmations to Change Your Focus

The law of attraction says that you attract what you think about. Unfortunately, when things aren’t going so well in your life, it’s hard to have positive thoughts.

Affirmations are a great way to change your focus from the negative to the positive.

Here are a few of my favorite affirmations. I hope you find them helpful. If you have your own favorite positive affirmations, please post them to the guestbook!

Nothing Is More Important Than Feeling Good

happiness LOAWhen you feel bad about something, chances are you are in the process of attracting something you don’t want or you are resisting something that you do want.

Whether you understand the affect of your emotions or not, your negative feelings are attracting more negative in your life, so it’s important that you understand the role that your feelings play in the law of attraction, and how to change those feelings.

When you are feeling bad about something, it’s easy to think more bad thoughts and to attract more bad into your life (or at the very least, to repel the good things you want in your life).

On the flip side, if you are feeling good about something it’s natural to have another good thought and another good thought and so on. When you’re having good feelings and thoughts you’ll notice that the circumstances in your life start and continue to improve.

Therefore, it’s important to recognize your feelings and to actively look for good thoughts when you are feeling bad.

In the law of attraction, nothing is more important than feeling good…

Positive Thinking Is A Powerful Tool

Have you ever met someone who was so positive about life, you wish you felt that way as well? You can. Positive thinking is a powerful tool. Our minds control all of our thought processes and can be the catalyst for living a happy and positive existence or live life with a doom and gloom attitude.

Here are several ways to not only improve your mindset, but your life as well.

* If you are faced with a negative thought, change it to a positive one. Remember the movie, “Pollyanna?” Her father taught her the “glad game.” She encouraged the town to find things to be glad about. Eventually, they did and were happier than ever before.

* Surround your life with positive people. Go to events which bring you joy or have special meaning. Invoke positive memories whenever you can.

* There is a saying, “It’s the simple things in life that make me happy.” Find those simple pleasures, no matter how small or insignificant they may be. They are yours to enjoy.

* Laughter is the best medicine, especially for a heavy heart. Be around people who make you laugh; it’s quite contagious.

* Love yourself; nurture the inner you; love others, and most of all be kind. Greet the doorman in the morning, or give a hug to someone who needs it most.

* Help someone less fortunate than yourself. Volunteer your time at a nursing home or hospital. When you give, you receive ten-fold.

Remember, what you do affects others. If you are negative, people will shy away from you. However if you are positive, you will be surrounded by people who wish to be in your company all the time. Congratulate yourself on jobs well done! Positive thinking breeds positive results.

Begin your day in a positive manner. Nothing is worse then getting up in a grumpy mood. It not only sets the tone for the days’ events, but impacts your family as well. Place flowers around your home; open the curtains and let the sun shine in. Also, add more light to your home if needed. Light has a direct effect on one’s mood.

Changing the way in which you view life can make all the difference. Try not to think about the negative aspects, but focus on the positive blessings in your life. Turn off the bad news, and channel your thoughts in the direction of goodness. It may be cliché, but take time out to smell the roses. Give thanks for all you have; and be generous to those who have nothing.

Higher Awareness – Spiritual Growth Programs

Learning about the law of attraction is great, but it won’t work for you unless you actually practice what you learn.

I’ve probably read hundreds of articles, books and ebooks on the law of attraction, but they were all missing what I really needed to implement the law of attraction – action steps.

A couple of years ago I stumbled across a website called Higher Awareness, which is filled with tools to help you not only learn about the law of attraction, but to help you implement what you learn.

Higher Awareness isn’t just about the law of attraction though. They have over 40 workbooks, email programs, and checklists to help you create and implement a personal development plan just for you.

Some of the topics covered on the Higher Awareness site include:

* Manage your time
* Manifest more money, prosperity and abundance
* Build healthier relationships
* Find your life purpose
* Develop your spirituality
* Or create your own self development plan after completing a needs analysis to determine what you need to focus on right now.

Some of the tools they use to help you create and implement your life plan include:

1. Workbooks
2. Email programs
3. Smart questions (this one’s my favorite!)
4. Journal writing
5. Meditation techniques
6. Quotes and tips
7. Resource lists
8. Calendars, and more

This is one of the most helpful, powerful websites I’ve ever come across. I can’t tell you how important it is to actually use the information you learn about positive thinking and the law of attraction, and this site provides you with all the tools you need to do it!

Use a Vision Board to Create Positive Thoughts

A vision board is a great tool for activating the law of attraction by keeping your goals and dreams in front of you at all times.

It’s also a great way to keep your thoughts positive, or to change negative thoughts to positive thoughts.

Basically, a vision board is a visual representation of your goals. It is a collage of the things you want in your life.

Vision boards are created by using poster board or foam board and adding picture that you have cut out from magazines or that you have printed from the internet.

You can also draw or write on your vision board. The point is to create a visual image of what you want in your life.

The goal of the vision board is to charge your emotions by selecting pictures and words that have a lot of meaning to you. By bringing emotion to your goals, you’ll start manifesting your dreams and goals into your life.

Another option to the vision board is to use mind movies, which combine pictures, affirmations and music to charge your emotions even more.

Lines Used In Palm Reading

July 7, 2017 By employed Leave a Comment

Almost all hands have a certain three lines on them, and most palmists give them the most weight:

Lines Used In Palm ReadingThe first major line that is examined by a palm reader is the heart line. It represents attraction and love. It is located near the top of one’s palm, and under the fingers. This line, in some traditions, is read starting at the edge of the palm underneath the little finger and then flows across the palm in the direction of the thumb. In other traditions, it is considered to start under the fingers and then flow towards the palm’s outside edge.

This line is interpreted by palmists to represent matters pertaining to the heart. Or our emotional living, more literally. Therefore it is thought to provide insight into how our mind frames’ emotional sides act upon and act out during the course of our life time. Also, it is frequently said, that the extent to which we have emotional reservoirs inside of us. For instance, a gridded or chained heart line (or an emotional line) is frequently see in individuals who are nervous, high strung and draw upon insight and emotional strength to achieve their ambitions. In other words, to draw strength they frequently wear their emotions right on their sleeves.

Such gridding or chaining on the heart line (or an emotional line) is frequently found in creative artists like writers and musicians, in addition to highly driven scientists.

Given that it deals with emotions, it is also claimed that this line indicates intimate relationships and romantic perspectives, again, a gridded or chained heart line is said to indicate a flirtatious view on love, and where one is prone to easily fall in love.

The heart line, on a physical level, is associated indirectly with heart health,
more through the the effects emotions may have on one’s body like with blood pressure. Quite often a chained heart has associations with high blood pressure, in addition to an attitude in life of an ‘adrenaline junkie.’

The head line is the next line that palmists identify. The line begins at the edge of one’s palm underneath the index finger and then flows over the palm toward the outer edge. The head line is frequently joined at inception with the life line. Usually palmists interpret the line to represent the individual’s mind and how it works, which includes thirst for knowledge, intellectualism, communication style and learning style. It is also thought that it is an indication of a preference for analytical or creative approaches to information (i.e. left brain or right brain).

Perhaps the hand’s most controversial line is the life line. The line extends from the palm’s edge above the thumb and then travels towards the wrist in an arc. The line is thought to represent the individual’s general well being, physical health, vigor and vitality. It is also thought that the life line is a reflection of major life changes, that include relocations, physical injuries and cataclysmic events. Modern palmists, contrary to popular belief, usually don’t believe that the length of the life line on a person is associated with the length of an individual’s life.

The combined length of the the three major lines (life, head, heart) can be used also. If the combined length is longer than an individual’s foot that might be over bearing. However, when it is shorter that means the person might give in to other people too easily. When the length is similar is suggests that the individual is well balanced.

Variations or additional major lines include:

A simian crease, or the fusion of the head and heart lines, has a special significant in terms of being both emotion and reasoning nature need to studied from only this line. The specific line is believed to be a combination of the heart and head lines on the hands that are marked separately on the remainder of the hands.

The line, according to Cheiro, is believed to endow an individual with single-mindedness or intensity of purpose. The nature of it is determined by the exact position of the line on the hand as well as the direction of branches that shoot from it, which usually is the case.

On hands where this kind of line exists as a single mark without any branches, it indicates the person has a very intense nature. These people need special care. The regular position for this line starts under the index finger and ends where usually the heart line ends at the hand’s edge beneath the little finger, which indicates average interests for the individual and nature’s intense side is decided on the direction of whatever branches shoot from it.

The palm’s upper half right below the finger is thought to represent the intellectual or higher nature and the lower part of the palm represents nature’s materialistic side. If one of the halves is bigger than the other one is as determined by the head line’s central placed or singular transverse palmar crease in this case, it demonstrates the greater development of this particular aspect of nature. On the basis of this general principle, if that line is beneath its regular position is an indication of a nature that is intensely intellectual nature. When it is over the regular position it is an indication of intense materialistic interests and nature.

The direction that any of the branches might be founding shooting from the line significantly impact the nature of the line and results in suitable modifications coming from the defined results above depending on what nature of those mounts are on the hand.

For example, when a branch from the line shoots to the Moon’s mount lying on the hand’s lower edge on the exact opposite side of the thumb, it is an indication of an intensely emotional temperament and vacillating nature.

The fate line is a line running from the bottom part of the palm next to the wrist, and then up through the palm’s center toward the middle finger. It is thought that this line is connected to the life path of a person, including obstacles and successes, as well as career and school choices. This line is sometimes thought to be be a reflection of circumstances that are beyond a person’s control, or alternatively the choices an individual makes and their consequences.

Mounts that are in palmistry:

Venus mount, Neptune mount, Luna mount, plain of Mars, Mars negative, Mars positive, Mercury, Apollo, Saturn, Jupiter.

Other minor lines:

Sun line – this is under the ring ringer and parallel with the Fate line; it is thought to be an indication of scandal or fame.

Girdle of Venus – begins between the ring and little fingers, running in a rough arc underneath the middle and ring fingers and ends between the pointer and middle fingers. It is believed to be related to having the ability to manipulate and emotional intelligence.

Union lines – these are short horizontal lines located on the palm’s percussive edge between the bottom of one’s little finger and the Heart line. It is thought to be an indication of close relationships, romantic sometimes, but not always.

Mercury line – running from the bottom part of the palm close to the wrist, and then up through the palm in the direction of the little finger. It is thought to indicate skill in communication, business acumen or persistent health issues.

Travel lines – those are horizontal lines that can be found on the palm’s percussive edge between the heart line and wrist. It is said that each line represents a trip that the subject takes – the longer that the line is, the more important a trip is for the person.

Other marking include rings, tridents, squares, triangles, crosses and stars underneath each finger. The meaning and impact varies depending on the specific location on the palm as well as the freedom from other lines interfering.

Apollo line- indicates a fortunate life; this line travels from under the Apollo finger to the Mount of the Moon on the wrist.

Where Did Palmistry Come From?

July 7, 2017 By employed Leave a Comment

Where Did Palmistry Come FromThe ancient practice of palmistry dates back over thousands of years and traces of this can be found in the prehistoric caves in Spain as well as France. Detailed drawings of palms can be found painted all throughout these prehistoric locations almost as a symbol of the interest humans had in the palm since the stone age.

There have also been many archaeological findings of human palms made by ancient civilizations made of materials such as of wood, stone and even ivory. Another detail which is repeatedly seen throughout history is the use of the hand as an instrument of mitigation between the gods and mortals to bring about healing.

From Hindu Astrology in India which in Sanskrit is called Jyotish, Roma Gypsy fortune tellers and I Ching, Chinese Yijing the roots of palmistry are discovered from culture to culture. It is said that a book which is made up of five hundred and sixty seven stanzas and translated in English is titled ìThe Teachings Male Palmistryî was possibly written by the Hindu Sage Valmiki.

You can follow the route of the art of palmistry from India into China into Tibet, Persia, Egypt and other European countries. Palmistry was introduced to Greece from China and practiced by Anaxagoras. Modern day palmists however tend to combine psychology, predictive techniques that are more traditional, alternative methods of divination as well as holistic healing all in one.

The most widely practiced and taught form of palmistry is the Classical Palmistry whose roots and structure come from Greek mythology. The palm and each finger is associated with a particular god or goddess, the characteristics of each area stipulate the essence of the corresponding feature of the subject in question. Let’s take the ring finger for example which is associated with Apollo the Greek god, the features linked to the subjects art, fame, aesthetics, harmony and music practices.

There are many examples of the use such as the thesis on Palmistry found by Aristotle on the altar of Hermes (384-322 BC) or Hippocrates and Galen who were Greek physicians and both used their knowledge of palmistry in their clinical work (130-200 AD). In 3000 BC, the Chinese emperor would seal important documents with his thumbprint and there have been findings of the use and rules of palm reading in the Bible, Vedic scripts as well as in early Semitic writings. It has even been said that Julius Caesar used palmistry to pass judgment on his men.

The early and consecrated Hindu writings known as the Vedas used used the examination of hands in an attempt to discover and understand oneself and and exterior relationships thus began the deeper understanding of the patterns, lines as well as signs that are unique to each hand. The result being that this is directly due to our thought patterns which we consciously create and bring about our own personalized life map.

John Lyngate used the word Palmistry written ìPawmestryî in his early 1420 writing of the Assembly of Gods documents. De Philsiognomia was written in 1477 by Michael Scotts and was the first book ever written on Palmistry. The subject was the physiognomy of the human body however, an entire chapter was dedicated to all that is the human hand. A phrase from the book reads ìA pebble thrown into the water creates ripples, our thoughts similarly create the same effect on our handsî. During the seventeenth century many a book was written on the subject which includes the ideas that the early gypsies ideas on the human hand which traditionally has been passed on from generation to generation since the beginning of the 1400s.

The Catholic Church was directly responsible for forcing the practice of palmistry to become a clandestine practice being as they associated it with demon worship. But due to this the popular gypsy fortune teller emerged as the attempt to abolish that which was not understood brought about a new era for human experiences.

The well known French fortune teller that served in Napoleon’s court, Marie Anne le Norman was very successful with her predictions to Napoleon and Josephine this caused a lot of attention to be drawn to palmistry. This subject was written on by two French men; Desbarolles who was born in 1808 and DArpentigny, born 1798.

Many others achieved fame through palmistry. Saxony’s king in the 19th century had a physician, Dr. Carl Carus who was able to compare palms to their personalities. It was said that Patrick ìThe Mysteriousî Godden was able to look at a person’s palm and predict the exact day the would die. He predicted his own date of death however he died in 1875, not what he had predicted.

Another individual known for his ability to predict the date of death was Alex ìThe Mightyî Bernas he however was also able to say what the exact cause of death would be. He was known for his healing powers as well as a his reputation for being a witch doctor and an esteemed chiromancer.

One of the most well known and fascinating figures of the world of the occult was Cheiro. He was born in Ireland in the year 1866 as William John Warner and later acquired the names Count Louis Hamon due to his self acclaimed noble ancestry and Cheiro which is derived from chiromancy. He was known for his death predictions which are said to have been accurate at least for himself as well as date and event predictions which for even celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe were said to come true. A clairvoyant who used Chaldean numerology and palmistry to predict astonishingly accurate world events.

One thing that has always gone hand in hand with palmistry has been skepticism but as time has gone by more and more people have begun to believe. Studies in the 21st century of the palm have been performed on children born with certain disorders such as Down Syndrome, autism and ADD just to name a few. Connection have been made with early diagnostics of childhood disorders that are difficult to predict on the onset of childhood.

Thanks to the study of our unique and personalized finger maps that work the same way as our own signature forensic studies were able to conclude that no two fingerprints are exactly alike. In 1901 Scotland Yard was able to develop a form of identification they could use for criminal investigations and that was the now famous fingerprinting.
Also known as dactyloscopy identification by use of fingerprints can compare a sample of an impression of the palms, fingers and even toes to see if they positively match the individual in question. There will never be two exact same fingerprints no matter how soon a sample is taken between them. An expert or specialized and highly advanced technological computer can detect whether the ridges in the print impressions match each other to a T.

There has been research that proves there is a direct link between a fingerprint pattern and heart disorders as well as skin patterns; Dermatoglyphics have been directly linked to odd hand markings and genetic abnormalities.

Spirituality (IS IT RELIGIOUS?)

May 5, 2017 By employed Leave a Comment

Spirituality is one of those topics that can mean a lot of different things to many different people. Some take it as being a religious experience, while others describe it as a connection to all living and non-living things. And still others to simply mean being more “connected” to the world around them.

A Spirituality Definition?

The definition of spirituality I feel is most accurate is to be “spiritual” in a way that goes beyond what is know when using our own limited physical resources like the Five Senses, or our perceived understanding of our environment as described to us by others or resources we have not crated ourselves or based on our own core beliefs.

Rather, to be truly spiritual in a meaningful way that directly and indirectly impacts our lives as well as others, we must look into ourselves to see what values we hold, what will and will not be tolerated both in our immediate environment as well as a global view. And then how best to lead our lives in such a way that our outer lives reflect what we “intuitively” know to be our best path that aligns with our core beliefs in a way to positively effect our own lives and the lives of others, as in spiritual beliefs we realize all things are connected and equally matter.

Yes, its a bit wordy, but it is the clearest way that I can state what being spiritual really means as an individual. And how important it is too look within yourself so that you can be connected to all things.

Towards Spiritual Enlightenment

Even if you are religious, one thing that should be apparent in any religion whether youre Buddhist, Catholic or Muslim is the idea everyone is connected. All living things have a purpose in the world. That there is an energy, whether its God or some other hierarchical figure or not, that binds us all together.

spiritual enlightenment or a spiritual awakening begins with looking into ones own soul and understand that they themselves hold the power to understand themselves and their place within the greater world around them. And that theres both a power and a responsibility in this self realization.

Science has proven that all matter is made of energy. And that that energy is the same energy in all things, living or non-living. Meaning that the exact same energy you have flowing through your body is the exact same energy that is in a rock, or your kitchen table. There is no basic difference. The only difference is the way the energy has lined up or its field.

To keep things simple here, I will not go into physics and theory. But it is VERY interesting and enlightening in the way it demonstrates how integrated everything truly is and all from nothing. If you are interested, there is a list of interesting articles at the end of this article to get you started.

It should also be pointed out that its not just the energy in our own world we are talking about here. All energy, at least as far as we know so far, is the same even in the deepest reaches of space. Everything that exist is all based on the same basic building blocks of energy.

So there is no wonder humans, being self aware beings, have noticed this energy both in a scientific endeavor as well as a spiritual one.

Have you ever sat next to a waterfall and felt invigorated? Or gone somewhere and felt there was something special about the place? An energy of its own?

Or on the other hand, have you ever walked into a place and felt a very negative energy? You could feel something was wrong, out of place, even “evil”?

And the same goes for people.

Have you ever met someone and you were immediately attracted to the other, whether in a sexual or non-sexual way? You knew instinctively that they were “good” and meant you no harm? There was just “something about him”.

Usually people like this have many friends and are often talked about with the highest regards. And the people around them are also usually positive people. In fact, it almost seems that they attract other like people. The whole Law of Attraction thing.

And it goes without saying the absolute opposite exists as well. People you know without ever meeting, just by being close enough to them that you can feel their negative energy and again, you instinctively know they are bad, or intend to do you some harm.

And they too seem to attract others like themselves.

Everything is connected. Even inanimate objects are connected within the whole.

So its no wonder practically every civilization in the world has some sort of spiritual consciousness that is practiced as an overall group activity with a central figure to help guide the flock whether it be the Shaman or the Priest.

And due to the diversification of where we come from, our immediate environments, who we converse with on a daily basis as well as our own personal experiences from the simplest things to how we decide to live among one another in an acceptable manner helps explain why there are so many religions and different beliefs when one speaks about the spiritual aspect of life.

Spirituality is a very personal experience.

As far as who is right and who is wrong is not the point of this article or website. Perhaps we are all wrong, or all correct at least partially. I most likely will never have the answer until I finally perish, and maybe not even then. But that doesn’t mean I’m not fully aware of the energy that flows though everything around me as well as within myself.

Nor am I unaware of how the energy within me affects others. Yes, you do affect others with the energy you give off. And they in turn effect you. This is the responsibility part of spiritual awareness.

The most exciting aspect of this awareness is once you are aware and accept that there is energy all around you and you are both directly and indirectly effected by it, you are able to tap into that energy and even redirect it to become more positive in every aspect of your life. Even channel it. And use it to improve not only your own life, but others as well.

Is Being Spiritual But Not Religious Possible?

This is a newer term I see more and more often in the press. And frankly Im glad that more people are searching within themselves to find their own spiritual path rather than expecting to be handed the answers that may not even fit their own questions.

We are individuals, and being an individual means having different thoughts, feelings and life experiences. We all see the same moon when we look up at night, but what it represents to each of us is VERY different.

One may see it as a God. Another may not care or even notice. Another may dream of walking on the moon someday and dedicate their entire life to attaining that one specific goal.

So how could anyone ever expect every single person on the planet to all agree on something so personal as their spiritual beliefs?

And to make things worse is the traditional view of more organized religions is the idea that they are “right” or “righteous” and that all other forms of spirituality are wrong, even damned. So unless you fit into a strict set of beliefs, and how many of us really do, you are never really going to fit in or even feel comfortable with the narrow acceptable beliefs of the chosen religion or group.

And this has never been more evident as of late. Perhaps this has to do with so much information that is freely available to us that has never been easily accessible before.

How many of you had heard of things like the Law of Attraction or understood the benefits of meditation 30 years ago? Imagine a yogi trying to drum up business in an average small American town in the 1950s.  Or someone telling you part of getting rich is in the belief you can be?

Or maybe its simply because as children, parents aren’t pushing their children to conform to a specific religion as hard as their parents had. Or due to simple economics, parents are working more and going to church less and therefore their children aren’t exposed to formal religion as often as their parents.

Whatever the reason or reasons, and I’m guessing there are many and not just one, a huge change is taking place.

“Looking at the long view, the generational spans are striking. Whereas 85% of the silent generation (born 1928-1945) call themselves Christians, just 56% of today’s younger millennials (born 1990-1996) do the same, even though the vast majority about eight in 10 were raised in religious homes. Each successive generation of Americans includes fewer Christians, Pew has found.” (taken from a CNN article quoting PewForum.org.)

That’s a huge difference in a rather short period of time. In one generation a very core belief of the average American has changed by almost 30%. A very core belief indeed!

And this youthful percentage is not just joining a different religion.

“Why have so many young people departed?

another theory traces the decline to the fact that middle-class people born since World War II are far more likely than their predecessors to have earned higher degrees, presumably absorbing in the process the agnosticism of modern academia.

But other theories attribute the decline to factors internal exodus of young people to protest against the churches supposed indifference to the sufferings and struggles of the blacks, the poor, and other oppressed groups. The advocates of this notion argued that if the church did not become relevant it would lose its youth.

Another theory people have left the mainline churches in protest against the support that denominational officials and agencies have given since the mid-1960s to left-wing causes such as abortion rights and Third World revolutionary movements. According to its proponents, those who have deserted the mainline churches have done so in search of a richer spiritual diet.”

Whatever the reasons, there is a change happening, and it isnt just in America. Perhaps one day our time will be called a New Spiritual Awakening period if enough of us choose to decide what we believe in for ourselves by looking within rather than to the people and places around us.

And the best part of personal spirituality is, you can start at any moment, you don’t need somewhere to pray or worship, and you don’t need someones approval. Its the best part, but most likely its also the hardest part.

Where do you begin? What are the best questions, techniques, etc…

I’m hoping this site helps answer those questions and maybe even spark some new ones.
